Economic Data Analyst

The Economic Data Analyst provides support and advice in the decision-making process of private companies and public administrations by finding and processing data and information essential to guide the strategies companies operating in both real and financial markets - such as banks and Insurance companies.

This figure also plays an essential role in consulting firms and local public administrations, in support of intervention policies especially in this historical where government in many countries are facing a process of digital transition.

Skills associated with the function of Economic Data Analyst:

The economic data analyst has skills in economic, business, statistics, Information Technology (IT) and legal fields. It is a figure able to search and collect data, carry out processing and quality control, implement strategies to make data interoperable and analyze it through data analytics techniques. In particular, the economic data analyst will know:

Job opportunities:

The economic data analyst is employable in both the private and public sectors. 

In the private sector, main career opportunities will be in the banking and insurance sector, at research institutes and consulting firms.

In the public sector, graduates from this curriculum are required at all levels of administration, both local and national, in public research institutions and in international organizations. This professional figure is also required in national and international research institutions. 

Finally, a graduate from our program will be able to apply succesfully to a Master program in Economics, Data science and related fields.

Business Data Analyst

The business data analyst creates and manages an information and data systems capable of supporting strategic choices of company management. 

She is able to collaborate with the areas of marketing, budget and administration and

investment, applying analysis and processing techniques to information and data relevant to the improvement of company performance. 

The business data analyst can be supportive - directly, but also indirectly through a consulting company - to small and large companies operating on a local scale, but also on national or international markets.

Skills required:

The business data analyst has skills in the economics, business, statistics, Information Technology (IT) and legal fields. In addition, she is responsible for the production of summary reports related to the outcome of data analysis processes to support decisions; must be able to plan and coordinate data analysis, as well as the effective communication of results from data analysis to company levels responsible for business strategies. 

In particular, the business data analyst knows:

• the basics of management: the structure and functioning of the main business processes, with particular reference to digitized planning and control activities, accounting and marketing;

• the characteristics of the main market structures with particular reference to the degree of competition on the production side and the determinants of consumer demand;

the IT and statistical-mathematical tools necessary to acquire data from direct and indirect sources, query and extract data from a database, evaluate the quality of the data collected, process and interpret data from studies on field or controlled experiments, to prepare for supervised or unsupervised statistical learning processes to support the decisions of private companies - both small and large - as well as consulting companies.

• The basic legal principles essential to frame national and international regulations on data processing, including their conservation and security.


Job opportunities:

The business data analyst is employed in consulting companies but also directly in companies operating in the manufacturing, agriculture and services industries, especially banking and insurance. This professional figure is particularly in demand in this historical phase in which companies have to face the complex transition towards

digitalization and the sustainability of business processes.
